Raster vs Vector

Raster images are grids of pixels; vector images are math-defined shapes.

Raster formats (JPEG, PNG, WEBP) store a fixed grid of pixels and blur when enlarged. Vector formats (SVG) store shapes and scale infinitely. Photos are always raster.
